The outer surface comprises an outer surface area and a first identifier with a first surface area. The first identifier is located on the first tampon and corresponds to a first absorbency. A second tampon comprises an absorbent outer surface with an outer surface area. A second identifier comprises a second surface area. The second identifier is located on the second tampon and corresponds to a second absorbency. The first identifier surface area of the first tampon is different than the second identifier surface area of the second tampon. The first identifier and the second identifier are written identifiers with increasing numbers indicating an increase in a functional characteristic.
